northern lights campaign
About the Campaign
The Northern Lights Capital Campaign is on behalf of the Milan Village Arts School and in recognition of the traditions of art and education in rural Minnesota.
The little red rural schoolhouse, home to the Milan Village Arts School, has traveled many miles but has always been full of students; as a country school, as the band room adjacent to the public school, or as host to folk arts classes.
Countless volunteer hours have been spent restoring the building and adding the Scandinavian inspired porches and colors to reflect the heritage of this area. It has become a distinctive, recognizable building in Milan and it is now time to finish the job, and put back the big windows that were a part of the original design. Our students will see better, our building will be more beautiful, and our history celebrated.
Purpose of Campaign
Install tradionally designed windows on the north wall of the Milan Village Arts School to provide natural light to help students in our classes see better.
Campaign Goal
To raise $10,000 by the summer of 2009. Your monetary gift or volunteer effort toward the goal of restoring the MVAS schoolhouse windows will help provide a better, brighter venue for practicing the folk arts in Milan. Thank you.
