Clay SculptureCreative Sculpture Workshop with Arthur Norby

Arthur Norby has taught the subtle points of figure, animal and portrait sculpture for over 20 years and will guide you to a greater understanding of the craft. Because the class is limited to 10 students, you will receive ample personal attention whether you are a novice or an advanced sculptor. Students will experience, portrait, figure and bas relief projects with instructor demonstrations.

Tuition: member $125 non-member $140
Supplies: $20 approximately. The supply fee is paid to the instructor at the conclusion of class.

Watercolor: Beginning with Jill Blom

WatercolorLevel: Beginner and above

Time: 9:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Milan Village Arts School

This class will cover all the basics of watercolor painting, including a summary of supplies you will need, how to use them, and how to appreciate and develop your own painting style. Students will learn by observing short watercolor demonstrations and by practicing these techniques on several small paintings. They will eventually work on at least one larger painting during class, more if time allows.

Watercolor Wednesdays: Instruction & Painting Practice with Jill Blom

WatercolorLevel:  All levels and experience
Dates: Wednesdays

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Registration deadline: One week before each session
Location: Milan Village Arts School

Back by popular demand, Watercolor Wednesdays provides a welcoming format for experienced and novice painters to enjoy and practice their craft. Each Wednesday Jill Blom will offer a workshop from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Students spend the afternoon practicing what new techniques they learned from the morning session or just spend time practicing their passion for painting. Each Wednesday is treated as a separate class.

Tuition: $20 per session
Supplies: Bring your own projects and paints.

Picture Framing Workshop: Finishing the Job with Brian Wolf

Location: Milan Community Center Framing Room

The framing room at the Milan Village Arts School is becoming a complete framing workshop. This class will show you how to use the resources at the school to make wood frames, cut mats, cut glass, hinge artwork and assemble the pieces to give your artwork polish.

There will be tips on design, but the focus of this class will be the mechanics of using these simple tools so that you can have the expertise to solve most any framing problem.

Tuition: member $80 non-member $95

MosaicsMosaics with Lisa Arnold

It's hard to have a bad day when you're working with materials as beautiful as stained glass and ceramic tile! In this 2 day class, experience the joys of mosaics while learning the craft. No experience needed! The course is appropriate for introductory and intermediate students. Participants will be introduced to mosaic art: materials, tools, techniques and design. Students will experiment with different stained glass and tile, learn various cutting and shaping techniques, use numerous tools and create works of art! Students will design and create a 5 x 7 inch glass mosaic and an 8 x 10 inch tile mosaic, both for indoor display.

Tuition: member $125 non-member $140
Supplies: $30. The supply fee is paid to the instructor at the conclusion of class.
