Sitting in the sun on the spacious front porch of a 1915 school house meticulously restored in the traditional Norwegian style, or sitting outside in the evening around a roaring fire – always among friends. That is one way to describe the annual gathering of the spoon carvers each June in Milan.

The Milan Village Arts School will again play host to the annual gathering of spoon carvers. Artisans, artists and spoon enthusiasts will gather at Burns Park and the Milan Village Arts School to carve, learn and share their passion for the humble spoon, an international symbol of family, meals and friendship.
Friday is set aside solely for spoon carving time. Please feel free to arrive anytime Friday to set up camp and use the school’s facilities. On Saturday, there will be demonstrations from renowned carvers and a potluck party in the evening. Just come to watch or bring your spoons and carving tools.
All levels of experience welcome and absolute beginners will be well cared for.
